THE TOWN OF MARLBOROUGH COURT WILL NOT BE IN REGULAR SESSION DUE TO THE RECENT CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.  ALL NON-ESSENTIAL MATTERS ARE ADJOURNED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WITH A NEW COURT DATE WHEN REGULAR OPERATIONS RESUME.

IF YOU HAVE A SCHEDULED APPEARANCE OR WERE OTHERWISE DIRECTED TO ATTEND COURT, YOU WILL NOT BE PENALIZED FOR YOUR ABSENCE.

Justice Court COVID-19 Response

Court Overview


The Town of Marlborough Justice Court has jurisdiction to hear the following matters:
  • Civil Lawsuits not exceeding $3,000
  • Criminal: Misdemeanors and Violations and Preliminary Jurisdiction of Felonies
  • Traffic and Parking Infractions
  • Violations of Marlborough Town Code
  • Small Claim not exceeding $3,000
  • Summary Proceedings: Evictions relating to property located in Marlboro or Milton

Rescheduling/Missed Court Appearance


If you need to reschedule your appearance time and date, contact the court as soon as possible. If you miss your court date contact the court immediately for further instructions. Please note that telephones are not answered when court is in session.

Payments


Payments made in person are accepted from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Cash must be exact change only. Master or Visa Cards, money orders and certified/bank checks accepted. We do not accept personal/business checks.

Directions

*Please Note - GPS takes you to the second level parking lot.  You'll need to park in the lower level parking lot that you see from Route 9W and enter through the Police Station.

From Newburgh, NY:
  1. Take 9W North 8.9 miles.
  2. Court is located on the right at Marlborough Town Hall.
  3. Entrance is through the Police Station door.
From Highland, NY:
  1. Take 9W South 5.6 miles.
  2. Court is located on the left at Marlborough Town Hall.
  3. Entrance is through the Police Station door.

Important Notes


  • No cell phones or electronic devices are allowed.
  • Proper attire is required at all times.
  • Court clerks cannot give legal advice. 
  • No other town department can assist you with court matters.  You cannot leave a voice message with the court.  Please call during normal business hours.
